چکیده

The Clebsch-Gordan formulas for d-function are studied for both nonunitary finite dimensional representation and unitary infinite dimensional representation of the SU (1, 1) group. It is shown that, in addition to the usual Clebsch-Gordan formulas for the above-mentioned two representations, there exists an additional type of Clebsch-Gordan fornmla connecting the nonunitary and unitary d-functions. The new kind of Clebsch-Gordan coefficient of the SU(1, 1) obtained in our previous paper arises naturally in this formula. The three ClebschGordan formulas are proved to be interrelated with each other by analytic continuation. It is, further, pointed out that all the recurrence formulas of the unitary d-functions -obtainable from the known recurrence relations of Jacobi polynomialsbelong actually to this new type of Clebsch-Gordan formula. Explicit algebraic formulas of d-functions are derived by employing an elementary algebraic method analogous to the standard treatment of angular momentum.

Su(3) Clebsch-gordan Coefficients

The purpose of this paper is to find out a set of general recurrence formulas for the calculus of the SU(3) Clebsch-Gordan coefficients. The first six sections are introductory, presenting the notations and general group theoretical methods applied to SU(3). The following eight sections are devoted to a detailed treatment of the carrier spaces of the irreducible representations and their direct...

Tensor product representations of the quantum double of a compact group

We consider the quantum double D(G) of a compact group G, following an earlier paper. We use the explicit comultiplication on D(G) in order to build tensor products of irreducible ∗-representations. Then we study their behaviour under the action of the R-matrix, and their decomposition into irreducible ∗-representations. The example of D(SU(2)) is treated in detail, with explicit formulas for d...

A 'differential measure' is used to cast our calculus for the group SU (3) into a form similar to Schwinger's boson operator calculus for the group SU (2). It is then applied to compute (i) the inner product between the basis states and (ii) an algebraic formula for the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients. These were obtained earlier by us using Gaussian integration techniques.

A Calculus for Su(3) Leading to an Algebraic Formula for the Clebsch-gordan Coefficients

ABSTRACT: We develop a simple computational tool for SU(3) analogous to Bargmann’s calculus for SU(2). Crucial new inputs are, (i) explicit representation of the Gelfand-Zetlin basis in terms of polynomials in four variables and positive or negative integral powers of a fifth variable (ii) an auxiliary Gaussian measure with respect to which the Gelfand-Zetlin states are orthogonal but not norma...

Programs for generating Clebsch – Gordan coefficients of SU ( 3 SU ( 2 ) and SO ( 3 ) bases ✩

Computer codes are developed to calculate Clebsch–Gordan coefficients of SU(3) in both SU(2)and SO(3)-coupled bases. The efficiency of this code derives from the use of vector coherent state theory to evaluate the required coefficients directly without recursion relations. The approach extends to other compact semi-simple Lie groups. The codes are given in subroutine form so that users can inco...
